I am Josephine Grenier, a French art director and graphic designer based in Japan. I create identities, packaging and illustrations that combine a strong sense of color with an intuitive understanding of cultural context. Living between Europe and Japan shaped the way I design. I pay attention to the details that make a brand feel authentic, the textures that carry emotion, and the small creative choices that help people connect with a story. For marketing teams, this means visuals that are not only beautiful but also meaningful, strategic and adapted to how audiences actually respond. I often collaborate with brands in food and beverage, lifestyle, hospitality and culture, helping them navigate the Japanese market with clarity and personality. My goal is simple: create design that feels alive, grounded, and genuinely memorable.

Kobe, Japan

A studio growing from a city defined by design and cultural diversity

Nested at the foot of Mount Rokko in Kobe, I’ve settled in one of Japan’s most bi-cultural places. Once a foreign concession land, Kobe remains a fascinating blend of Japanese roots and European architecture, presence, and culture, a perfect retreat for a designer shaped by cross-cultural influences. The area is also home to some of my biggest artistic inspirations: Tadanori Yokoo, born here, or the architect Tadao Ando, whose work continues to shape the spirit of Japanese design.
